What About Bruce?

In my last post, Uzma made this request:

Tell us more of Bruce Lee’s philosophy in your own words and understanding. Something strikes a chord, with you and Bruce Lee. Am intrigued. Both by your article and Bruce Lee himself. Tell us more please, if you don’t mind.

It was never a matter of following his philosophy. What happened was miles away from any of that.

I thought it might be nice to go into this in an audio post.

(As a side note, when I recorded this audio, I went off on a tangent and ended up with 25 extra minutes of material. Most of it having to do with finding out for oneself. I may post that in the future. And thank you Uzma for the question.)

(EDIT 8/08: More trouble. You’ll now have to right click and save as.)

(EDIT 8/05: All of the previous problems have been taken care of.)

(EDIT 7/28: I am having no end of trouble trying to get these audio files to work with the various plug-ins. Until I get it all sorted out, you can download the file HERE, just right-click to save. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

    Hello Takuin,
Thank you so much for your response to my request. It’s really great of you .
However I seem to be having some computer sound card problems and can’t hear your post. Could it be possible for you to email it to me, or set up a download link, please. I am very sorry for the trouble. Let me know if you can, or else i’ll figure out a way to hear it.

    Thanks soo much
    God bless

    Hi Takuin
Not sure why, but the Flash player does not appear in Firefox 3 browser. This may by Uzma’s issue.
The other possibility is that it’s encoded for Flash 9. If anyone has Flash 8 or earlier, it won’t work. However, if that’s the case, it should offer a link to the free upgrade.

I tried the page in IE and it came up fine.

Very interesting to hear your voice. Thanks for this.

    @Davidya

Thanks so much for pointing out the issue. I think this new plug-in is a beta version (I just found out), so I will switch the plug-in to something like podpress in the next day or two.

That may very well be the issue. Besides, I think in podpress the download option is part of the player itself. (See Tom Stine’s latest interview for a good example.)

    Thanks again.

Stepping past the voices of authority, going beyond gurus. It’s a powerful place to find your own voice, your own perspective, your own way. To find the path you are already on.

I would say for myself that I was pushed. I had outgrown aspects of the teaching but stayed for the community. At a certain point it simply stopped fitting and events drew me away into a more mundane period, raising a family, etc. As that period ended, I discovered something new had percolated but it took some time to define it.

I would say I was a slower learner then (laughs)

    @Uzma,

In the end I think I must change the theme itself. As much as I like it, it is out of date and there are too many problems with using various goodies like the podcasting capabilities. But luckily, I already have a new design I am working on. I am still testing everything, so we will see how it goes.

Are you rushing through the thoughts, or is it simply thought rushing into oblivion?

Keep us updated. And step slowly.

it’s both. Thoughts rushing through me, till I am lost in them, other times its deep learning that suddenly makes me ’see’ things as I never have, and discover a little of their truth. and to be. A teacher said I am an observor. I wil need to engage with people again, but I want that to be out of compassion and a sense of Oneness and not compulsion to be social.

Yes, I am going slowly. This mad rush to learn , I have discovered is only a desire to get somewhere higher and as we know, there is no where to go.

    Thats it for now.
    God bless

    Uzma,

What I meant to say, are the thoughts rushing through you, or are you the very thoughts that are rushing? Is it possible to be lost in them? Follow what is happening. I am not saying it is a certain thing that you will be able to fully hold and own. It is nothing like that at all. But is separation part of the problem?

Be fully alive in all of these moments. Is there some resistance happening? Do the thoughts rush and then someone stands up and says, “No, that is not right!” If they rush, they rush. That becomes your meditation. Meditation is never something you should do, or a technique that will bring results later. Meditation is this living with what is, as it is.

Thoughts rush, certainly. But is there also someone rushing with them?

I am not saying it is so, one way or the other. Sit with yourself and find out.

I finally fixed the podcasting problem, everyone. Now, you can download, and play in a separate player.

There will be more to come soon.

Curious - this post just arrived via email again.
Technology - ya gotta love it (laughs)

Same for Akiko and myself. It may be related to the feedburner problem I had at that time.

Oh, well. It might be useful for someone that missed it the first time.
