As some of you have noticed already, there has been a bit of a change in this house. And I like it.
I won’t go into every little detail, but I will point out a few things.
There is a new function at the bottom of each post allowing you to subscribe to the comments without actually commenting. This is something I love, because at times I can be a comment stalker. And I know many of you feel the same way.
I will still upload my photos for each post, but you will not actually see them unless you are on the post page.
Over the next few weeks I’ll add a header image, and some other things. But basically, the site is finished.
The featured post is set up to handle the Question of the Week. All other new posts should fall in line beneath the “Latest Feature” section.
If there are any bugs, or if you notice something that looks a bit off, just leave a comment and let me know. And if you like it, or if something annoys you, don’t hesitate to bring it up.
For those of you that have subscribed, and you are reading this in e-mail or RSS, please click through to the site and check out the new look.
(For those of you participating in the last post, I will get to your replies very soon. I’ll be working on the new design for a bit, but I will be back before too long.)

I like the clean look and look forward to the new banner.
But you may want to add ‘recent posts’. - ah, I see. It is on the home page. But if you respond to a new post, this list is not available unless you browse to the home page. Not obvious for newbies.
Thanks, Davidya.
I have played around with the recent comments plugin, but it is showing up in a strange way. I am still working on it, and we’ll see what happens with it. I am sure there are a ton of useful plugins that can take care of it.
I may add in the popular posts, as well. I’ll also eventually remove the archives from the sidebar. That thing is getting out of control. Haha.
Also, under the RSS Feeds, the All Comments is really messed up. Haha. I just noticed.
So yes, there are a few things that need to be taken care of. But I think it is running at 90%. The more I use it, the more I really like it.
I switched Categories and Archives into a pick list so it takes little space. You may find that a useful fix for archives. Present, but it takes little space. That made room for recent posts.
Thanks for that. I’ll definitely look into it. You know, I am even thinking of removing all non-essential elements from the sidebar altogether, so I may not even use those. But I have not fully decided, one way or the other.
Also, the comments rss appeared to be broken, but I was looking at them in google chrome and not firefox. Chrome is terribly broken. I hope they can fix it.
Thanks for giving me those suggestions, Davidya. I went to your site and checked out the drop down menus and they look nice.
Thanks. Mines just a standard WP template on the .com site so not remotely as configurable. I could do without the little floral embellishment but otherwise like it. I’m into ease of use so try to give direct access as much as possible. I use the sidebar all the time to call up prior posts for linking. (laughs) Going too minimalist will make your visitors work more. Of course, interface design is a whole specialty unto itself….
