Takuin
Attention and where it is placed seems to be the key point, or the sure fire way to liberation (if such a thing exists).
It is only when you begin to explore with directing your attention do you realise how mammoth a task this is.
Also, one becomes painfully aware of how easily distraction occurs, and not by the obvious forms of distraction, but more by the little things....as i practise this i have become more frustrated with things that never would have bothered me before. For eg. being distracted by a beautiful woman seems to be accompanied by such a strong sense of yearning that is almost akin to physical pain!(and that is actually a pretty obtuse example)
Obviously this was always here, but as i become more aware of these distractions the associated suffering that comes with them also has increased quite considerably.
It is a constant motion of being pulled in multiple directions at once.
I imagine that the majority of people live in a similar state as this but are so used to feeling this subtle sense of suffering that they have become unaware of it.
Only when you begin to notice where you place your attention do you realise how ridiculous this twisting and squirming actually is, it is mentally and physically exhausting.
