Do You Know?

It is not enough to say that you know it. Knowing is very solid and permanent. It is always the same, although the contents may shift around a bit. Belief in the knowing is the personification of security. But knowing is completely impotent in the presence of being. Knowledge cannot touch it, cannot move it in any way.

It is a curious thing. Believing you know is the person, the you. As you say, this is impotent in the presence of Being. Yet knowingness is the very nature of Being. Not a personal knowledge of nor belief in this or that. But a simple completeness. The movement of Being within Itself. They call this Veda in India. Here’s a line on Buddhism:
“When all knowledge of Buddhism is lost and one becomes enlightened then we have a true Buddha – infinite state of infinite knowledge.”

In essence, we loose all temporal knowledge to gain pure knowledge.

Davidya,

I seem to recall someone naming it “intelligence,” but I suppose it doesn’t matter what we call it, as long as we can come together.

Or perhaps it is activity beyond self-centered activity?

Recalling my experience I can say there was no difference between the knowing and the being of the moment. Again, we are hampered by language (or at least I am). Perhaps for some, like myself, “belief” is the operative word in the original post. If we believe there is a separation of being and knowing for the sake of ego’s security, then there will be.

Eric – yes, knowing is the being itself. “intelligence” is embedded in existence.
Belief is operative, yes. But what is belief found on? How we experience. How we experience is founded in the value of awareness we reflect. Curiously, we have a tendency to believe our beliefs after our awareness has shifted. When they no longer serve.
