Eric - Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. ;-)
To me there is great beauty in seeing just how vast our world is, behind the facade. But I was being facetious. One can't take it too seriously.

Haha. Nice one, Eric.

It may be interesting...when I write away from this site (in notebooks or what have you), it is all very similar to this. There are no questions. That might sound strange, as most of my posts are composed of mainly questions.

But really, Takuin is insignificant in all of this. It is all the work of the reader. And that is so beautiful; each of us is a teacher of the highest order. We all hold the highest wisdom, and can see clearly how all of this may arise.

Sometimes, if I talk with someone, they may become upset and start to defend. They may throw it back at me and say, "Well, what about YOU?" But I have to tell them Takuin is insignificant. It is all them. They hold the key to their suffering as well as their liberation.

I suppose one might just think of this site as a nameless, faceless machine that regularly churns out questions for no apparent reason. It is something the reader will work with, or not. Regardless of whether or not they need to.

My friends have told me I am too anonymous. ;)

Shame on you Davidya, sucking the beauty out of Takuin's vision with your dry dissertation! (laughs) A great example of how the same event can be "seen" in two vastly different ways though.

That was a pure pleasure to read, Takuin. Free of artifice and full of wonder and grace. I find multiple layers of meaning in it.

Haha...

It is funny. The first image that came up when you mentioned the word, rakshasa, is of the old Monster Manuals published by TSR.

Wow...it is a flood of memories. Haha

Davidya,

Yeah right. Next you'll tell me the earth isn't flat, or that stomach aches are not caused by small trolls living in our stomachs.

Curiously, the sun does not rise. The earth turns to meet it. But even that idea is misleading. They tell us the earth orbits the sun at 108,000 kph but this assumes the sun is sitting still. The sun is moving towards Lambda Herculis at 72,000 kph. This means the earth is actually spiraling through space so its going much faster than that. It is remarkable the sun comes 'up' in the expected place every day. We're also in a galaxy that is moving at about 2 million kph. We're sucking the Sagittarian galaxy into ours in a great arc, its stars streaming in through the area of our solar system.

Indeed, how can we comprehend the reality of it? We cannot even imagine it. Moving, silently through space. Within.
