Thank you for the personal descriptors of your experience. Even though our words are different, I understand what you say here.

This consciousness, presently defined as "me' , experienced a vast longing to surrender to the emptiness
In allowing this surrender , what was found was that emptiness is impossible.
It is constantly constellating experience, no matter how subtle
tes, emptiness and fullness are one

Wow

Yes, exactly. This is why I always read your blog. You come to it from a different perspective, one that draws me to clarity on my own. That's very valuable.

It is fascinating how in the indescribable one, because it is inclusive, it includes both sides. There is no duality, no this or that. Just this seen in so many ways.

And that's the whole point. Not to see it the same. But see itself completely.

Davidya,

I have often thought on this.

If I had never met you, I'd probably just go on using the word empty, or whatever, without thinking twice about it (I'll probably go on using it, but that is beside the point). But after we had a few conversations on the usage, I had to take another look. And I am glad I did.

There are problems with both emptiness and fullness as descriptors. The interpretation of one might lead the listener to believe more is present than what is, while the other might lead the listener to believe it is far too little. Of course, none of this is significant because it can never be less or more than what it is. Approximations can be made, but belief cannot touch it.

Words are tools, as we both know. Necessary evils, haha. But each of us, as human beings, reach out to the world in certain ways. I am not sure why this is. I don't mean mere familiarity, where a person finds comfort only in what is familiar to him, but it is the usage of the tool in an efficient manner, or perhaps a 'unified' path of least resistance (that is not quite it, but close).

Let's say one uses fullness because 'what is' encompasses all that is, which is true. But another uses emptiness because any description or movement away from 'what is' is too much, which is also true. Both are not necessarily false, although they lack vitality as descriptors. But if one person were able to somehow see into the functioning of the other, they might find an 'identical' state, which I find a marvelous possibility.

I think we have both read each others writing long enough to know, neither of us are against either word or description as a flourish. I can feel and understand if you say fullness, or whatever word you might use. And if I use emptiness, or something like it, I am sure you can see it, understand it, and go on with it easily.

But these words are not necessarily choices, as I am sure you can understand. It just comes out that way. And for both of us, it is always right...

...although, some days are better than others. ;)

If I had never met you, I’d probably just go on using the word empty, or whatever, without thinking twice about it (I’ll probably go on using it, but that is beside the point).
I always find it interesting when you speak of this. Although there is only one here, nothing and alone cannot be found. There is only everything and everyone, contained within the one, as none other. The more I look, the more I find.

As Tom Stine talks about in his recent post, it is really "beyond" everything and nothing. It contains both but is neither.

Davidya is never alone. ;-)

Hopefully sleep came :).

It sounds very peaceful coming from you. Of course, when I sit and try to find my self, it's a very chaotic buzz of activity. I don't give the sun time enough to finish burping! Ha!

I've really enjoyed reading you since I found this site. Your words just feel peaceful. That's about the only way I can put it. I'm glad to have "met" you, too.
