Water Fasting – Day 4

Everything from Day 3 has carried over into Day 4, but it is slightly less intense. I feel like I am hovering between two worlds; I am tired but have this great energy, and both can’t seem to get along. There is some physical confusion.

I just came across this post, and your blog, today. I am a faster and it is interesting to see what you are doing in posting every day about a long water fast. I will be looking forward to reading about your experiences going forward.

I got through 10 day fasting several times twenty years ago when i was in my twentys. I took water with lemon squash and a little bit of maple syrup.
it was great.
I found Michael Brown and the importance of the emotional body, which I am convinced of and emotions were very often a part of my comments, look at it its good.
So after my good bye. This is saying a short hallo.
Have a pleasant journey with your fasting.
Greetings

iamasimpelman,

Thanks for the links. I’ll be sure to have a look.

I have heard of the water with lemon and maple syrup. I have also read of some people using regular lemonade for this as well. But I never wanted to have that much sugar during this fast.

I have done some calculations, and I am taking in around 100 to 150 calories per day. So I guess it isn’t really a strict water-fast, but it is close enough for my purposes.

I am almost through the first week, and the body has nearly adapted to this new way of life without food. I imagine my “regular” physical functioning will emerge in the next day or two.

Thanks for your support!

hey i have done teh master cleanse 10 days , and now i am on my second waterfast, last one i did for seven days now i think im going to do 10 … what do you mean by 100 calories ? water has no calories…. if you eat anything will take you out of ketosis in 5 minutes and then is having all the bad sympthoms again

Felipe,

If you read the other posts in this series, you will understand what I mean with the calories.

This was a mental experiment, and not a cleanse. I did not care at all about ketosis. The entire purpose was to find out what goes on in the mind during a prolonged fast. While there may have been cleansing and ketosis going on, that was not at all the point of doing this fast.

It ended up being not a strict ‘water’ fast. By the end of the month, I was taking in 500 calories or less in other liquids. I found that I could not take vitamin and mineral supplements while on this fast; it just made me feel queasy. So instead, I would make a drink containing said vitamins and minerals, and that is where the calories came from.

This was an experiment in finding out. Not an attempt to cleanse or lose weight.

Thanks.
