What Do I Know?

If I know enlightenment; the stored up ideas, the rights and the wrongs, the yes’s and the no’s; and I have it all at my fingertips ready to fire like a bullet, then what the hell am I doing? “I am a being that knows all about enlightenment, and I am the fire that will ignite their candle.” This is the same old nonsense, dressed in different clothes. And isn’t it about time we finally admit the Emperor has no clothes?

There is no discussion which leads to somewhere. Knowing means nothing. Expression is everything. In a world of yes and no, wrong and right you have to decide what you want to be. Be a poet, express yourself don’t try to explain, don’t try to find even the right question, inhale and exhale. Express yourself, your inner grown tree, and not the picture you have about this tree. Express it without fear. “Wild thing you make my heart sing.” Don’T be a monk be a poet.

The Albatross

Often, to amuse themselves, the men of a crew
Catch albatrosses, those vast sea birds
That indolently follow a ship
As it glides over the deep, briny sea.

Scarcely have they placed them on the deck
Than these kings of the sky, clumsy, ashamed,
Pathetically let their great white wings
Drag beside them like oars.

That winged voyager, how weak and gauche he is,
So beautiful before, now comic and ugly!
One man worries his beak with a stubby clay pipe;
Another limps, mimics the cripple who once flew!

The poet resembles this prince of cloud and sky
Who frequents the tempest and laughs at the bowman;
When exiled on the earth, the butt of hoots and jeers,
His giant wings prevent him from walking.

,Charles Baudelaire The Flowers of Evil translated by — William Aggeler,(Fresno, CA: Academy Library Guild, 1954)

Enlightenment has no clothes. I like that.

There is no discussion which leads to somewhere.

And yet, here we are chattering away.

The world has become a blinding sight
of too much enlightened people, night
can no longer be seen…

What about the fireflies? :-)

Sass,

The fireflies have been destroyed in order to make a new drink that brings about enlightenment. It is called In-Light-In, and for only three easy payments of $99.95, it can be yours.

Enlightenment is just around the corner…
